Prizes Include: Trip to one of the Hottest Inauguration Parties in D.C., Gibson Guitar, Original Shepard Fairey Artwork and More

SAN MATEO, CA September 15, 2008 - CafePress.com, the leader in user-generated commerce, has announced a T-Shirt design and slogan contest to raise money for Rock the Vote and rally political passion around the November election where the question, "What are you voting for?" will be tackled. The contests, celebrating excellence in original designs and creative slogans, kicked off on Thursday, September 11, and will run through Sunday, October 12, 2008. To enter the contest visit http://shop.cafepress.com/sportyoursupportcontest.

Entrants have the opportunity to enter two distinct contests-

  1. Design Contest - upload original art on to a T-Shirt which illustrates an answer to the question, "What are you voting for?"
  2. Slogan Contest - design and submit witty slogans for T-Shirts using CafePress's new ezDesigner that answers the question, "What are you voting for?"

All submitted designs and slogans will be featured and available for sale on T-Shirts, and a portion of the proceeds will directly benefit Rock the Vote. Submissions will be hosted on a dedicated CafePress microsite where the general public can rank designs and purchase T-Shirts. After October 16, users will have the opportunity to vote for three winners from both pools of finalists. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 winners of each contest and include:

  • Grand Prize: Airfare, accommodations and a ticket for you and a guest to one of the hottest Inauguration parties in D.C., as well as assorted Rock the Vote gear and a CafePress gift certificate.
    • Estimated value = $4,000
  • Second Prize: Original Gibson Guitar, assorted Rock the Vote merchandise and a CafePress gift certificate
    • Estimated value = $1,800
  • Third Prize: Signed & framed limited edition Shepard Fairey print, assorted Rock the Vote gear and a CafePress gift certificate
    • Estimated value = $450

"These contests celebrate creative voice and political inspiration," said Amy Maniatis, VP of Marketing for CafePress.com. "Much like the enthusiasm we've seen from the general public around the election, we are confident artists will come out in droves to create catchy designs and slogans as we raise funds for Rock the Vote."

Participants will be judged on originality and creativity and both contests will judge how well the design or slogan represents the artist's answer to, "What are you voting for?" Complete contest details are available at http://shop.cafepress.com/sportyoursupportcontest
